Are there any support groups for dementia sufferers? I am looking for a support group for my wife who is experiencing dementia. The Alzheimer's Association does not.

I was searching for one which my wife could be able to sit with and interact in person, especially considering she has difficulty spelling and using a computer! San Antonio, Texas

mddrj,
There are several ways to find local support groups. You may call your United Way's 211 line for information. They have a 24/7 counselling line and lots of resources. The Alzheimer's Foundation may have a group in your area. Your local Area Agency on Aging usually has a lot of information on dementia and probably has a list of support groups near you. Some churches have support meetings. If that fails, try the Salvation Army or ask your wife's doctor to help you locate a group. Some hospitals and clinics have support groups, too. Hope something here helps you find what you need.
